Pink 18 AWG GPT primary wire: stranded copper with PVC insulation, made to SAE J1128 and SAE J378 automotive standards. Rated 60V max and -40°C to 105°C (-40°F to 221°F). Nominal outside diameter 0.095".
Use it for: low-current circuits — sensors, gauges, LED and marker lights, and switch and relay control wiring in 12V and 24V systems on cars, trucks, trailers, RVs and boats. Using a different color for each circuit makes troubleshooting much easier.
Getting the right size: pick the gauge for the current and the length of the run — our wire gauge calculator works it out for you. Crimp 18 AWG wire with 22–18 AWG terminals: ring terminals, butt connectors and quick disconnects. Cover splices with 1/8" single wall or 3/16" single wall heat shrink, or 1/4" dual wall where it needs to be waterproof.
