Mechanical lugs clamp a conductor with a set screw — no crimp tool needed. Copper lugs from 14 AWG to 4/0 and dual-rated (copper or aluminum) tin-plated aluminum lugs from 14 AWG to 350 MCM.

A mechanical lug clamps with a set screw and can be re-used; a crimp lug needs a crimp tool and gives a permanent, compact connection.
