Non-insulated butt splice for joining two 16-14 AWG wires end to end in high-heat locations. Made from nickel-plated steel and rated up to 900°F, it keeps a splice mechanically sound where standard copper terminals would oxidize and insulated ones would melt. Made in USA.
Use it for: repairing or extending leads on heating elements, thermostats, limit switches and control wiring in ovens, furnaces, kilns, water heaters and commercial kitchen equipment, where vinyl- or nylon-insulated terminals would melt.
Choose something else if: the splice runs at normal temperatures — a tin-plated copper butt connector conducts better and costs less, and a heat shrink version seals out moisture. Because this splice has no insulation, cover it with high-temperature sleeving wherever it could touch metal.
